Folk band Alameda‘s Stirling Myles and Jesse Dettwiler stopped by OPB to play a stripped-down version of their song “Summer Dharma.”
Singer, guitarist and songwriter Myles leads the Portland transplants. They have evolved from their Denver rock roots into lushly orchestrated chamber-folk. Alameda’s careful orchestration and unique instrumentation gives them an edge in today’s folk scene. The strings and clarinet gracefully tie together the core of drums, guitar and bass to create an integrated, unique sound.
The five-piece group released their sophomore album, Procession, last fall.
On the Tracks is opbmusic’s video series focused on songwriters, giving you a chance to hear a bit of the story behind each song and see the song performed on the old tracks behind OPB.
