Diverse Harmony: Magical Thinking
St. Stephen's Episcopal Church
1432 SW 13th Ave.
June 14, 2013, 7 p.m.
Diverse Harmony, the nation’s first gay-straight youth chorus, presents Magical Thinking--a concert reflecting on the creative and imaginary worlds that youth invent and explore. The concert will showcase the young singers in song, dance and the sharing of personal stories.
Composed of 58 singers who range in age from 13 to 22, Diverse Harmony provides a safe and affirming space for LGBTQA (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Queer, Ally) youth. The singers have performed throughout the Seattle area and in many cities across the United States. As the first gay-straight allied chorus, Diverse Harmony has been embraced as one of the leading youth choruses in this new movement.
The concert at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church is free. Any donations received will be given to an organizational effort to form a similar gay-straight allied chorus here in Portland.
