High and Outside: The Story of Hosford is a documentary film that examines a diverse group of Portlanders who have been playing softball nearly every Sunday since 1998 in a dilapidated school yard. Interviews with players, past and present, provide a unique look at what can happen when an organic pickup softball game becomes deeply embedded in the lives of those who play it and the neighborhood that hosts it. The film also explores the nature of community, humanity, and its connection to sports.
