The Marquam Mosaic is a participatory public art project led by renowned Portland artist Lynn Takata and will involve children, families and adults in creating a 100' long mosaic for the Marquam Nature Park amphitheater. The public is invited to create ceramic and mosaic art and poetry based on the native flora and fauna of Marquam Nature Park, at ten locations in Southwest Portland from February through August.

Workshops will be held at the Hillsdale Library, Hopewell House, OHSU, Terwilliger Plaza, Portland State, Shriner's Hospital for Children, Marquam Nature Park, St. Thomas More School and Ainsworth School. Workshops are free but registration is required. The artwork will be installed in August on the amphitheater of the Marquam Nature Park shelter with a dedication in September. Public workshops will be advertised and posted as soon as they are scheduled. Recently, Friends of Marquam Nature Park were awarded a 2013 Project Grant from the Regional Arts & Culture Council (RACC) in order to create the mosaic. In addition to the grant from RACC the project is funded in part by the Dr. William Connor Memorial Fund of FMNP.
