Maureen Folan is living in her tiny cottage in the village of Leenane caring for her aging mother, Mag, a woman of many demands and minimal charms. She aches to leave her life of tedium, not to mention her manipulative mother, and opportunity knocks with the appearance of Pato Dooley. So begins a darkly hilarious series of events, leading to a stunning and surprising climax that only Martin McDonagh could have conceived. Third Rail celebrates the breakthrough work that brought Irish storytelling kicking and screaming into the 21st Century.
