- My Mother was a Coast Guard SPAR— The SPARs (Semper Paratus Always Ready) were Coast Guard women reservists recruited during World War II so that “men could go to war.” Based on the memories of one of the initial 12 recruits, this documentary gives some historical insights about the discriminatory policies of the time.
