Joint Project Manager
Alison Perkins is the coordinating producer for the Big Footprint Projects, working to maximize the impact of OPB’s enterprise journalism. Previously, she had served as joint project manager for the Local Journalism Center Video Production Grant. Alison came to OPB from the University of Montana School of Journalism, where she ran a grant designed to bring environmental science news to diverse audiences and taught science storytelling and video production. She was also an independent producer with Montana PBS and a science textbook author. Alison holds a Ph.D. that integrated science, video production, communication and education, an M.A. in radio/television production, and an M.S. in wildlife biology, all from the University of Montana. Her production work has earned regional Emmy awards for best documentary, writing and best feature/segment, a Cine Golden Eagle Award, and a Parent’s Choice Foundation Award.
