COLD WAR I: Bay of Pigs

Introduction

On April 17, 1961, an invading force of over 1,200 Cuban exiles, trained, financed, equipped, and directed by the American Central Intelligence Agency, launched an amphibious invasion of the Cuban mainland. Their goal — the overthrow of the Cuban government and its leader, Fidel Castro.
