COLD WAR I: The Berlin Crisis

Introduction

"The Berlin Crisis" episodes examine the first major confrontation between Western Allies and the Soviet Union following World War II when, without warning in June 1948, the Soviet Union cut off all communication between Berlin and the West. In particular, the two parts of the video cover the tensions in post-World War II Germany, divided by allies who no longer had a shared vision of the future. These episodes also recount and explain the amazing Berlin Airlift and the events surrounding it, offering the perspectives of Americans, British, Berliners, and Soviets.
