Lesson 1: Setting the Stage
Discuss the events leading up to the Yalta Conference, analyze the status and strength of each country, both politically and militarily, and use this information to predict how each country will emerge from the conference and, eventually, from World War II.
Lesson 2: Perception of the Viewer
Students will discuss the role perception often plays in world events and how understanding other's perspectives will allow them to interact more effectively in school and society.
Lesson 3: Reflections on Leadership
Develop an interpretative, multimedia presentation reflective of a a historical leader and the process and influences surrounding a pivotal event or decision.
Lesson 4: Dangerous Negotiations
Investigate the goals of negotiation for each of the Allied leaders, discuss the benefits of knowing the goals of others in negotiation, and examine the many techniques of negotiation employed by the Allied leaders.
Lesson 5: Voices of Memory
Students will analyze poetic works related to historical events and write a personal creative piece related to history, a manuscript reflective of an historical event, person, or process.
