Carlton Jackson

Portland-based drummer, Carlton Jackson, tells the story of the time Steve Gadd lent him his drum kit. Although grateful, Jackson couldn’t make the drums sound anything like Gadd could play them. “The cymbals were like man-hole covers,” jokes Jackson, “but the were Steve Gadd’s man-hole covers.” He also shares the story of his time with legendary jump-blues drummer, Panama Francis.
