Umatilla County officials are considering a proposal to require the city of Milton-Freewater to hook up a nearby trailer park to their water and sewer system.

The East Oregonian reports environmental tests found E. coli in the well water at Locust Mobile Village. The mobile home park is just outside city limits.

But Milton-Freewater city officials say the mobile home park owner is just trying to avoid paying for either the services or to improve the well on her property.

If county commissioners determine that there is a public health danger, then the final annexation decision rests with the Oregon Health Authority.
