Authorities have identified one of the victims of the fatal bus crash on Interstate 84 over the weekend. But the process of making positive ID’s is tough in this case.
Oregon State Police have identified 57 year-old Dale William Osborn of Spanaway, Washington, as one of the nine people who died in the bus crash Sunday. Police spokesman Gregg Hastings says medical examiners face a difficult task in identifying the others.
Gregg Hastings: “It’s complicated by the sheer numbers as well as the fact that the trauma injuries of most of these people received is affecting some of the positive identification process, without having fingerprints, and some other identifying background or identifying features.”
Hastings says officials don’t want to make any mistakes. Hastings himself had said at a press conference that he didn’t believe any of the victims were minors. But he says the medical examiner is now reporting one of those who died may not be an adult.
