The Portland Trail Blazers have signed forward Joel Freeland.
The British player was drafted by the Blazers in 2006, but has spent the past six seasons in Spain's ACB League. The team didn't announce terms of the deal.
Blazers general manager Neil Olshey called Freeland a "rugged interior player" who plays hard every game.
Freeland will start for Great Britain's Olympic basketball team later this month in London. It's only the second time Britain has had a basketball team in the Olympics. In 1948 and again this year, the British team won an invitation as representatives of the host nation.
