Oregon's Land Use Board of Appeals has released a decision in favor of the plan for Oregon State University's four-year campus in Bend. The plan had been approved by the City of Bend.

A local group called Truth in Site challenged the city's approval of the OSU-Cascades plan for an initial 10-acre campus. Truth in Site argued that OSU-Cascades needs to submit a master plan to the city, which is a much lengthier and more complicated process.

"We were always confident that we were following the land use process properly. This decision affirms that," said Christine Coffin, spokesperson for OSU-Cascades.

Scott Morgan, spokesman for Truth in Site, says his group plans to appeal the board's decision.

"Our next actions will be to the state court of appeals.  We've made it clear from the beginning that we're going to go all the way to the state Supreme Court if necessary," Morgan said.
