Both Sides Weigh In On Marijuana Legalization Measure

Oregon voters are going to be asked to weigh in on a marijuana legalization measure this election.

Measure 80 allows for unlicensed personal cultivation of marijuana and sales of marijuana through state-licensed stores.

Representatives on both sides of the issue squared off about the marijuana debate on OPB’s Think Out Loud today.

Umatilla County Sheriff John Trumbo opposes legalization. He talked today about the training officers would need to recognize when people are under the influence of THC, the active ingredient in pot. But first, Roy Kaufmann, the communications director for the “Yes on 80” campaign, told host David Miller that more and more people accept the idea of legalization.
