The shooting of a Vancouver teenager  by a city police officer is being investigated.

Doug Combs, 16, died Friday after he was shot in the back by Vancouver Police Corporal Marshall Henderson.

Police had been following Combs and another 16-year-old. The teens were suspects in a home invasion shooting and two armed robberies at convenience stores.

Kim Kapp, with the Vancouver Police Department, says that a regional crimes team investigates officer-involved shootings.

“Because both the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Vancouver Police Department had personnel that were on scene, the Camas Police Department, who is also a member of the regional crime team, is the lead investigative body,” Kapp says.

The 16-year-old who was with Combs when he was shot is scheduled to be arraigned in juvenile court on Wednesday. He faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm.
