Congressmen Work To Save Coos Bay Rail Line

The economy of southwest Oregon has been hit hard by the closure of the Coos Bay rail line seven months ago. It used to run from Eugene to Coquille.

This week in Washington, D.C. some heavy hitters went to bat on the region’s behalf.

Congressman Peter DeFazio and Senators Ron Wyden and Gordon Smith want federal railroad officials to come down hard on the railroad company.

Elizabeth Wynne Johnson of Capitol News Connection spoke with Allison Frost about how the issue is playing out in Washington.
