The Coos County Health Department says it plans to use aerial spraying to fight a mosquito infestation near Bandon.

The announcement came after a closed-doors meeting between the department and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Thursday.

The Coos Bay World reports that the county chose two chemicals to spray that it found to be the safest and fastest acting.

County commissioners will vote Tuesday on the plan, which includes multiple sprayings immediately and another in the spring.
