Justice Court

CANYON CITY - The Grant County Justice Court reported the following fines and judgments:

• Violation of the basic rule: Christina Elford, Gresham, 82/55 zone, fined $287; Joan Reed-Nickerson, Camas, Wash., 80/55 zone, fined $287; Leanne Sevy, Oregon City, 79/55 zone, fined $230; Melvin Gingerich, Corvallis, 76/55 zone, fined $287; Temple Watkins, Reno, Nev., 75/55 zone, fined $190; Mindy Voigt, Prairie City, 75/55 zone, fined $155; William Tacker Jr., Anchorage, Alaska, 75/55 zone, fined $190; Gavin Watson, La Grande, 75/55 zone, fined $190; Leo Jacobs, Beaverton, 75/55 zone, fined $190; Raymond Russo, Gainesville, Florida, 75/55 zone, fined $190; Cynthia Dion, Ashland, 75/55 zone, fined $155; Ryan Judson, Bend, 72/55 zone, fined $155; Robert Witter, The Dalles, 70/55 zone, fined $190; Candido Perez, Wenden, Ariz., 53/30 zone; Werner Arntz, John Day, 50/30 zone, fined $155.

• Arthur Sirola, Dale, driving while suspended, fined $365.

• Adam Gilliam, John Day, failure to drive on the right, fined $220.

• Kevin Barr, Philomath, careless driving, fined $365.

• Paul Palmer, Vancouver, Wash., illegal U-turn, fined $190; and impeding traffic, fined $142.

• Justin James Whaley, Prineville, was convicted of aiding in a wildlife violation, and sentenced to bench probation for 18 months, 40 hours of community service, and fined $500. His hunting privileges were suspended for 36 months and he was ordered to provide a letter of apology to the victim. One count of second-degree criminal tresspassing was dismissed.

• Matthew D. Hendrix, Prineville, was convicted of aiding in a game violation, and sentenced to bench probation for 18 months, 40 hours of community service, and fined $500. His hunting privileges were suspended for 36 months, and he was ordered to provide a letter of apology to the victim. One count of criminal tresspassing was dismissed.

• Seth Schreiber, John Day, was convicted of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and fined $1,000.

• Judgment for Ronald J. Collman of Bend, who was convicted of hunting on the enclosed land of another, was amended by the court. Following Collman’s appeal, the $7,500 restitution fee to the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife was cancelled.

Circuit Court

CANYON CITY - The Grant County Circuit Court reported the following fines and judgments:

Bryan Frank Wheeler, 19, was convicted as follows:

• Second-degree criminal mischief: Sentenced to jail for 15 days, bench probation for 18 months and 60 hours of community service. He was also ordered to write a letter of apology and fined $268. One count of third-degree escape was dismissed.

• Giving false information to a police officer: Sentenced to jail for eight days, bench probation for 18 months and 60 hours of community service. He was ordered to write a letter of apology to the victim and fined $293. Counts for identity theft and minor attempting to purchase, acquire or possess alcohol were dismissed.

• Possession of less than an ounce of marijuana: Fined $648.

Grant County Sheriff

• Victoria Ramirez, 32, Portland, cited for violation of the basic rule (63/35 zone).

• Adam Gibson, 24, Mt. Vernon, cited for driving while suspended.

• Kelly Anderson, 52, Mt. Vernon, cited for initiating a false police report.

• Ryon Reed, 33, Moab, Utah, cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants.

• Juvenile male from Prairie City, cited for violation of the basic rule (74/55 zone).

• Jesse Redhead, 18, Mt. Vernon, cited for driving while suspended violation.

• Jacob Dingman, 18, John Day, cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Juvenile male from Mt. Vernon, cited for possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

• Christopher Conner, 19, Prairie City, cited for minor-in-possession.
