According to wire reports, two major corporations with Oregon ties are getting behind a push to overturn California’s ban on same-sex marriage.

Nike and Intel have signed on to a “friend of the court” brief due to be filed Thursday with the U.S. Supreme Court.  That’s according to both Reuters and the Associated Press, which obtained drafts of the brief.

Other companies such as Apple, Facebook, Xerox and Cisco Systems have also signed the document which makes the case that bans on gay marriage are bad for business.

A similar brief was filed with the high court Wednesday in a separate case challenging the federal Defense of Marriage Act.  That law defines marriage as a union between a man and a woman.

Arguments in both cases are scheduled for late March.
