The Oregon Department of Corrections say Craig Dennis Bjork is the suspect in the killing of his cellmate. A 45-year-old inmate who shared a cell with Bjork was found dead last week.

Joseph Akins was found dead in his cell at the state penitentiary in Salem. An autopsy revealed that Akins was strangled and died of “inflicted trauma.”

Bjork and Akins were housed together.  According to court records, Bjork killed a fellow Minnesota inmate in 1997. He was also convicted in Minnesota of murdering his two sons, girlfriend, and another woman in 1982. Bjork was transferred to Oregon earlier this year.

He’s being held in solitary confinement as the investigation continues.
