The University of Oregon’s men’s basketball team pulled an upset Thursday, in the NCAA tournament. The Ducks beat the Oklahoma State Cowboys, 68-55.

The Ducks pulled out to a lead in the first half and didn’t falter in the second. Oregon’s offense came from five players who scored at least eight points, and it relied on eight three pointers, including one from Damyean Dotson, featured on the TNT network’s broadcast.

“Dotson again – from deep, three – the rainbow finds its home!”

Oklahoma State was favored in the game, as the number five seed in the Midwest region. The Ducks were seeded 12th.

Many national sports analysts believed the Ducks deserved a stronger seed, considering Oregon won the Pac-12 tournament. Two Pac-12 teams - UCLA and Arizona – are number 6 seeds.

The Ducks next face St Louis University.

The top seeded school in the Northwest – Gonzaga – survived a scare to advance to a matchup against Wichita State.

Both Oregon and Gonzaga next play on Saturday.
