A dispatcher for the Fort Hood sheriff’s office says a 10-year-old boy who fell while hiking with his father on Mount Hood has been rescued.
The dispatcher says the boy was carried to a parking lot at 3 a.m. Wednesday and airlifted. No word on his injury or condition.
The father said he was hiking with his son on a trail near the White River West Sno-Park on Tuesday when the boy fell down an embankment and was unable to climb out.
The father called 911 and rescue crews responded to the scene, which was about three miles from the trailhead.
