An end is in sight for some of the largest blazes of Oregon’s summer fire season, according to the Roseburg News-Review.
Fire spokesman Dave Wells says the 48,000 acre Douglas Complex north of Glendale will likely be contained by Sept. 1.
The fires are 76 percent contained and aren’t expected to grow.
The Army National Guard pulled out of the area earlier this week as crews gained the upperhand.
Bureau of Land Management officials also say they expect the Big Windy Complex north of Grants Pass to be contained by the Sept. 1 deadline, though it is only 20 percent contained.
