Forecasters expect freezing rain to make driving hazardous this morning for most of western Oregon and southwest Washington.
The National Weather Service says the freezing rain should turn to rain in most locations by afternoon, but it could persist through the evening in the Columbia River Gorge and upper Hood River Valley.
Another front will bring rain and mountain snow tomorrow night and Friday.
Portland Public Schools are open Wednesday, but schools west of the Willamette will have buses on snow routes.
A number of other districts also have planned to start late or run buses on snow routes.
