The fight against genetically modified organisms in Jackson County got organized Thursday night.
The group “Our Family Farms Coalition” met at their new headquarters in downtown Medford’s Woolworth building.
They’re launching a campaign in support of Measure 15-119, which will go before voters in May and would ban GMOs from being sold in the county.
Supporters say the law would protect Jackson County farms from harmful chemicals used in the production of GMOs.
The group calls their fight a ‘David and Goliath’ battle.
A group opposing the measure has raised nearly $200,000.
The measure goes before Jackson County voters in the May election.
