CANYON CITY – The Grant County Court this week will review the job description for county roadmaster and discuss the recruitment process for filling the job.

The action follows the Court’s decision last week to review the job description, which was last revised in 2001.

Roadmaster Mark Hensley, who has been roadmaster since 2002, confirmed on Feb. 15 that he is leaving the county position. He declined to detail his concerns, but said he couldn’t be productive under the current Court.

In that interview, he also said he didn’t intend to stay on during the search for a new roadmaster.

The Court held an executive, or closed, session to discuss the personnel developments last week. The Court is scheduled to discuss the job at 9:30 a.m. during this week’s regular Wednesday session.
