Holloway Fire Almost 100 Percent Contained

The state Department of Forestry says the massive Holloway fire is now almost 100 percent contained.

The lightning-caused blaze has scorched 245,505 acres in Oregon and 215,542 acres in Nevada since igniting earlier this month.

Elsewhere, the fire officials say the advance of the Barry Point fire on private lands southwest of Lakeview has been stopped at just under 12,500 acres.

The fire has also burned 43,000 acres on U.S. Forest Service lands within Oregon and almost 40,000 acres in Northern California.

It is now 48 percent contained.

Evacuations and closures remain in effect for residences west of Goose Lake. All other evacuations have been lifted.
