Inmate Robs Bank One Hour After Jail Release

OPB | Nov. 29, 2012 5:24 p.m.

The Lane County Sheriff’s office reports that an inmate who was released from jail Thursday morning was arrested for bank robbery less than an hour later. Christopher Franklin Weaver was released this morning from the Lane County Jail with about 30 other inmates. That’s because the jail was forced by budget constraints to close 35 jail beds.

Inmates were released starting at 11 a.m. At 11:55, the Eugene police Department received a report of a bank robbery, and arrested Weaver.
