Lane County commissioners are discussing a resolution at Wednesday’s meeting to support a coal export terminal at Coos Bay.

The Register-Guard reports the resolution acknowledges health and environmental concerns, but it comes down on the side of economic development.

Environmental groups are fighting several proposals for terminals at Northwest ports that would ship coal from Montana and Wyoming to Asia. Supporters include business and labor groups.
