Late into Election Night, only one of the three Clackamas County commission races had a clear winner.
Martha Schrader appears on her way to back to Oregon City for another stint on the Clackamas County commission. Schrader was winning her race with close to 53 percent of the vote -- more than the majority necessary to win the race outright.
But the two other races were too close to call.
For County Chair, John Ludlow and incumbent chair Charlotte Lehan had a slight lead over county commissioner Paul Savas and former speaker of the Oregon House, Dave Hunt. But no candidate was getting more than 30 percent -- and certainly not the 50 percent needed to win outright. Which two candidates would head to a November runoff isn’t clear.
The other seat on the Clackamas County commission looks headed for a runoff, too.
Incumbent Jamie Damon and former state representative Tootie Smith were very close, with neither garnering close to the majority necessary to win the seat.
