The Pacific Northwest Grain Handlers have given the union representing dock workers at six terminals more time to mull their latest offer.

The International Longshore and Warehouse Union now has until a week from Saturday - December 8, according to a grain handlers statement released Thursday.

The Longshore union has been publicly critical of the latest contract offer. The grain handlers say the deal is similar to what local unions agreed to in the Washington ports of Longview and Kalama.
