Longshore workers with Oregon and Washington Ports took part in a regional work stoppage this Friday.

A spokeswoman for the International Longshore Workers’ Union Local 23 declined to discuss the nature of the event, which she called spontaneous.

The walkout coincided with this afternoon’s guilty verdict for a Longshore official accused of obstructing a train during a protest at Longview last year.
