The Medford Education Association will be sending the Medford School District an official ten-day strike notice on Monday.
An official strike would begin on February 6.
On Thursday the district voted in favor of a strike.
The teachers union and the district have been in contract negotiations for nearly a year, with some of the big sticking points including working conditions, wording, pensions and pay.
Meanwhile, Medford Schools Superintendent Dr. Phil Long said the district plans to keep schools open in the event of a strike. The district and the school board will be working to find substitute teachers.
