Chicago Teachers, Parents Riled By Plan To Close 54 Public Schools

Chicago school officials intend to close more than 50 elementary schools. It would be one of the largest mass school closures in the country. The Chicago Board of Education says closing under-utilized facilities would free up resources for a school district deep in debt. Angry parents and the teachers union say the plan will endanger children.
