FDA Expected To Approve New, Gentler Cure For Hepatitis C

The Food and Drug Administration is expected soon to approve the first in a new class of drugs that can cure the leading cause of liver failure and liver cancer. The disease is hepatitis C. More than 3 million Americans have it and most of them don’t know it. Health officials are urging everyone born between 1945 and 1965 to get tested. That’s around 79 million baby boomers.
