Koch Brothers' Newspaper Takeover Could Spark 'Culture Clash'

David and Charles Koch control what is believed to be the nation’s largest privately held company, Koch Industries. They share a strong libertarian bent against high taxes and government regulation, and in recent years have plunged deeply into partisan politics — supporting conservative Republicans who have beliefs that often coincide with Tea Party principles. Recent reports, confirmed by NPR, have revealed their interest in acquiring Tribune Company’s newspapers at what would likely be a fire sale price.
