Oregon Prepares For A Wet And Windy Weekend

 Oregon’s Department of Transportation is encouraging drivers to use extra caution on the roads this weekend.

The National Weather Service is predicting heavy rains and wind gusts that could lead to downed trees and power outages in Northwest Oregon and Southwest Washington.

ODOT spokesman Don Hamilton says road crews are at the ready.


“All of the maintenance people are on standby this weekend. The traffic management operations center is going to be on full alert, and we’ve got all of our hydrology people standing up and ready to go this weekend to address any problems on the roads that are going to be out there.”

The City of Portland has canceled the final Sunday Parkways of the season.

SOLVE has postponed its beach cleanup planned for Saturday due to the weather.
