An off-duty Hillsboro police officer has been arrested for allegedly shooting at Washington County Sheriff's deputies, hitting one, when they responded to a domestic dispute at his home.
The disturbance was between the off-duty Hillsboro officer and his wife. Shots were fired after sheriff's deputies entered their home, according to the sheriff's office. The deputy who was shot sustained non-life-threatening injuries.
The arrested Hillsboro officer, who has not been named, also sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect was arrested and booked on multiple charges. He has been lodged at the Washington County Jail. His wife and six-year-old daughter were not harmed, according to a press release.
Detectives from the Washington County Major Crimes Team are investigating the incident.
