The Oregon Liquor Control Commission announced a interim director Thursday.
Merle Lindsey will succeed the current executive director Steve Pharo, who announced his retirement this week.
Christie Scott, with the OLCC says the decision to name Lindsey as interim director was natural.
"I think in this situation it just made a lot of sense that Merle would step into that position, he is the deputy director, and he’s been with the commission for 29 years. During that time he’s held several executive leadership positions."
Lindsey will take start leading the OLCC next month. Steve Pharo’s last day is November 16th.
