The Oregonian newspaper's longtime editorial page editor, Bob Caldwell, died over the weekend.
He started at the paper as a copy editor nearly 30 years ago. In 1995, he rose to the influential position overseeing the opinion and commentary pages.
The Oregonian won a Pulitzer Prize for editorial writing in 2006, under Caldwell's leadership.
He died Saturday of an apparent heart attack, at the age of 63.
