Oregon University System workers expressed dissatisfaction with their contract terms as they headed into the final day of negotiations Friday.

The Herald and News reports that roughly 1,300 classified staff members at universities across the state could strike if negotiators can’t reach a deal.

A nearly eight-month bargaining process wraps up Friday at the Oregon Institute of Technology, before the employees’ union and school representatives turn to a mediator.

Points of conflict include minimum wage, step pay increases and the possibility of early retirement.
