After Oregonians voted to legalize recreational cannabis, the state found $4 million for a campaign targeted at keeping young people from using marijuana.

The TV, radio and internet ads will be unveiled Wednesday.

“Brain development is not complete until your 20s. For the best chance to reach your full potential you should not use marijuana to get high while you are young. And then being high will impair your ability to drive, play sports, play video games, bike and do other activities,” said Kati Moseley with the Oregon Public Health Division.

The pilot campaign will run in the Portland and southern Oregon areas.

Researchers will gauge the success and report back to the legislature next year.
