Starting Friday, the Pac-10 officially becomes the Pac-12, with the inclusion of the Universities of Colorado and Utah.  The conference begins its new life with a lot of money to spend.

Earlier this year, the Pac-12 announced a lucrative television deal with ESPN and Fox, worth $3 billion over the next 12 years.

Helping to steer the conference through all the changes is Edward Ray.  He’s the President of Oregon State University, and was just named the Chairman of the Pac-12 CEO group.

He spoke with me recently from the OSU Media Center in Corvallis.
