The ousted director of a public radio station serving Southern Oregon and Northern California has sued, seeking $1.4 million on claims his civil rights were violated when Oregon University System officials fired him.
The Mail Tribune reports that the lawsuit was filed by former Jefferson Public Radio director Ron Kramer in Jackson County Circuit in Medford on Tuesday.
It names as defendants Southern Oregon University and its president, Mary Cullinan, and the Oregon University System and outgoing chancellor George Pernsteiner.
Kramer was fired last June after an audit found his dual roles as director of the radio station and its fundraising foundation created a conflict that put the university system at financial risk. One source of risk was the foundation's investment to restore an old theater in Medford.
