The Parkrose School District has reached a tentative agreement with the teachers union.
District Superintendent Karen Fischer Gray says the agreement came after a long night of negotiating. It averts a teachers' strike.
Gray would not go into detail about what was worked out. But she says discussions centered around teacher workload and financial issues.
The agreement now goes to a bargaining council, and then to the union members for a ratification vote.
The final step will be school board approval. So, Gray says the district could have a ratified contract by mid-May.
