Police in Portland say they’ve made an arrest in a carjacking reported Wednesday afternoon.

Officer Pete Simpson says a man walked up to a woman in an SUV in a northeast Portland shoe store parking lot, pulled her out of the vehicle and drove off.

Responding Port of Portland police spotted the vehicle and tried to stop it by bumping it but it reversed direction and kept going. A Portland officer tried a second bumping maneuver and got the SUV stopped.

Simpson says 18-year-old Devon Mack was arrested for investigation of robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, reckless driving and DUI.

Police say the victim was able to drive the vehicle away.
