A large crowd greeted the Portland Thorns at the Portland International Airport Sunday afternoon when the team returned home from winning the National Women's Soccer League championship in Orlando Saturday.
As the players emerged from the airport, fans broke into their traditional chant of “P-T-F-C” – for Portland Thorns Football Club.
The cheer grew louder when fans caught their first sights of the championship trophy.
Sunday night, the team will hold a victory celebration at Providence Park. The public is invited to the free rally, which begins at 7:45.
