The Timbers have not been able to beat Real Salt Lake this season, and one of Portland’s worst defeats was to Salt Lake—four goals to two.

Timbers head coach Caleb Porter doesn’t expect the quick succession of games to affect his team’s performance.

“We’ll be fine, we’ll be fresh, we’ll be flying,” Porter said. “No problem at all. We’ll get recovered. And Salt Lake is in the same situation, so we’ll be ready.”

The Timbers will face Real Salt Lake in the first leg of the Western Conference final in Utah and then play the second leg later this month in Portland.

Real Salt Lake and the Timbers will have played a total of six games against each other this season.
